At IMI, we believe a person’s heart is just as important as their head.
Which is why, if asked to describe an IMI’er in 3 words, we would say she or he is…
We also have A TONNE of collective experience as marketers and marketing researchers, so we know how to harness this thoughtful, smart, fun-ness to serve you better. In fact, a typical IMI’er has worked on more than 200 research projects during his or her career.
Meet our IMI’ers
Managing Director, APMEA
Senior Account Manager
Ed holds a Master’s degree in Finance from RMIT and a Bachelor’s degree in International Business. He has over 10 years of experience in Market Research on the quantitative side, covering a large variety of clients and industries. Outside of work, Ed is an avid traveller, having spent time living in London, China, San Francisco, and Boston.
Miles is IMI’s IT Director and data analyst with over 14 years’ experience. Well-versed in the usual suite of multivariate statistical techniques (conjoint, regression, factor analysis, cluster analysis, latent class, Bayesian methods, GIS modelling) Miles spends a lot of his time staring at rows of data and coding solutions in R or Python. Before joining IMI International in 2009 Miles was the Operations Manager and Lead Developer at Qualified Opinions where he worked for two years.
Miles has a Bachelor of InfoTech (honours) majoring in Business Information Systems from the University of Wollongong.
As everyone will freely attest, Caroline keeps IMI running, and has done for over 10 years. Educated in Melbourne and having had a varied working life, from hairdressing, to hosting at the Victorian Pavilion at World Expo, to Personal Assistant on an overseas business mission and for company CEOs, to Office Administrator and Bookkeeper, Caroline (“Carrotts”) is well-travelled and loves keeping healthy with yoga and long beach walks with our office dog, Pepa.
Duane is a practical thinker who is motivated by clarity. He has a knack for “getting to the heart of the matter” – aka Insight Driving Profit. Duane joined IMI’s Melbourne office in 2015 after 10 years with IMI Toronto. His industry experience across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific includes FMCG/CPG, QSR, beverage, financial services, and automotive, as well as numerous sports and entertainment properties and not-for-profit organisations.
Duane has a PhD in Psychology (2003), and was a post-doctoral fellow and lecturer at the University of Toronto.
Senior Research Manager
Tetsuya is a Senior Research Manager in our Japan office with 7 years of experience in the marketing research industry. He has extensive experience across various categories, in particular automotive where he was involved in multi-country research across Asia and the US employing a wide variety of research methodologies.
Prior to IMI, Tetsuya worked at Ipsos Japan and the Nippon Research Center in Tokyo. He holds Professional Survey Statistician accreditation issued by the Japan Statistical Society.
Senior Research Coordinator
Chisato (“CK”) has worked for our Japan office since 2017 and has ensured the successful execution of hundreds of research projects across key project touchpoints. If you ask CK why she works at IMI (and we did), she would say “I enjoy working with people who are passionate and motivated about their work as well as personal lives, and to work in a small but high-performing team is what I had been wanting to. Required to be proactive and truly think and act on my own, for me IMI Japan is where I can keep learning and growing”.
Prior to joining IMI, Chisato worked as a research analyst in a research agency focused primarily on automotive projects (Advanced Driving Assistance System / autonomous driving technologies).
Vincent has been an Account Manager in our Australian office since 2017. Prior to joining IMI, Vincent was a project analyst with DBM Consultants where he worked on Australia’s largest business banking tracking survey servicing the research needs and requirements for one of Australia’s ‘Big Four’ financial institutions. With more than 3 years’ market research experience he has worked extensively with clients in FMCG/CPG, QSR and financial industries in both syndicated end bespoke analysis.
He has a Bachelor of Business (Marketing & Management) degree from Monash University and is the office sports nut, being a die-hard fan of his Hawthorn Hawks, New England Patriots and Miami Heat.
Programming and Data Processing
Dinushi is a survey programming and data tabulation superstar with a keen eye for detail. “Noosh” has worked for IMI for 5 years and has been involved in countless numbers of projects, executing every one with the same relentless passion and unyielding professionalism.
When not hard at work crunching data, Noosh is cooking up a storm in her Sri Lankan food truck or feeding her Lego addiction. In fact, Noosh was a contestant on Channel 9’s Lego Masters with her food truck partner Gayan.
Programming and Data Processing
People call Jyothi “The Machine”. Well, they don’t, but they should: Jyothi is a tireless DP juggernaut with 9 years’ market research experience, 3.5 of them with IMI. Originally based out of Singapore and currently based out of his home town of Chennai, most of Jyothi’s time is spent on programming and tabulation projects in the Asian region. Outside of work, Jyothi is a passionate cricket enthusiast: playing, watching, and friendly sledging members of our Aus team when India beats Australia.
Head Programmer / User Experience
Ned is IMI’s IT/Operations/Development Manager with over 12 years experience. His understanding of a vast array of technologies and unique skills in the management and presentation of data extend into every area of the IMI business. Ned’s experience at IMI International includes survey programming, tabulation, managing the operations team and leading the development team working on automating IMI’s internal IT systems and enhanced survey experiences. Before joining IMI International in 2009 Ned was a Developer at Qualified Opinions. Ned has a Bachelor of Applied Science majoring in Mathematics, and a Diploma of Information Technology from RMIT.
Devon lives for strategy and problem solving, and loves how market research can be used to impact almost all aspects of a business, not just marketing. Before jumping to agency side in 2007, he saw the power of research first hand in his tenure as a Marketing Director. It was love at first sight. When Devon isn’t chatting big-picture ideas with his colleagues, he’s usually cooking for his friends and family, planning the next holiday, renovating, or attempting to brush the knots out of his two daughters’ hair. Favourite saying: If you find yourself with a lot, build a bigger table, not a higher fence. Least favourite saying: No.

Fun fact: Saba (鯖) means “Mackerel” in Japanese so Saba’s display picture on the company internal messaging system is the aforementioned fish.
